İnci Holding, one of Türkiye’s well-established industrial groups, announced that it has moved its partnership with Japan’s GS Yuasa, established in 2015, into a new phase. İnci Holding has reached an agreement to acquire GS Yuasa’s 60% stake in İnci GS Yuasa, thereby securing full control of the company. The partnership between İnci Holding and GS Yuasa is planned to continue in terms of technology and supply, evolving into a strategic collaboration model.
İnci Holding, one of Türkiye’s well-established industrial groups, and its Japanese partner GS Yuasa have signed an agreement to restructure the partnership within their battery-sector joint venture, İnci GS Yuasa, in line with the parties’ long-term strategic priorities. Subject to regulatory approvals and based on mutual agreement, the partnership structure will evolve from an equity-based model into a strategic collaboration model, and it has been decided that 100% of İnci Akü’s shares will be consolidated under İnci Holding.
Throughout the 11-year partnership period, the parties aim to preserve the accumulated expertise in engineering approach, quality discipline, and process management, while continuing their strategic cooperation with a focus on technology and supply. Under the new structure, İnci Akü will continue its role as a supplier for GS Yuasa’s European market. Furthermore, the long-term relationship between the parties, encompassing shared quality standards, will be maintained through cooperation agreements.
Commenting on the new phase, Chairman of the Board of İnci Holding, Cihan Elbirlik, stated: “As İnci Holding, we will continue, as we have done so far, to take determined steps in our technology- and product-focused efforts in energy storage, guided by our approach of creating long-term sustainable value.” Evaluating the new period, CEO and Board Member of İnci Holding, Zeki Şafak Ozan, said: “During the past 11 years of İnci Akü’s 42-year well-established history, we have built substantial know-how at global standards in engineering, quality discipline, and process management together with our partner GS Yuasa. As parties, we will preserve this expertise in the new period and continue our strategic cooperation with a focus on technology and supply.”
Ozan emphasized that with the new phase, they will achieve full control of İnci Akü, and noted that, as a natural outcome of the single-shareholder structure, decision-making processes will accelerate, enabling the company to continue its growth journey with confidence, particularly in the European market. Recalling that İnci Holding, with its three subsidiaries, has consistently been listed in the TİM 1000 and İSO 500 rankings, Ozan concluded: “Despite global economic fluctuations, we have invested USD 210 million over the past five years and achieved an export performance exceeding USD 2.5 billion. With the full transfer of İnci Akü’s shares to our Holding, we are accelerating our growth journey and moving forward toward our goals with determination.” İnci Holding Hakkında: Temelleri Cevdet İnci tarafından 1952 yılında atılan İnci Holding, bugün ağırlıklı iş kolu otomotiv tedarik sektörünün yanı sıra hizmet, teknoloji ve sosyal sorumluluk alanlarında faaliyet gösteriyor.
